How credits work
What credits are, the two-bucket model (monthly plus never-expire packs), and how spends are metered.
Credits are GameFoundry's metering unit for AI features. Browser-only tools cost 0 credits: they run on your device. AI tools cost a set number of credits per run, shown on each tool's page.
Every account has two credit buckets. The monthly bucket refills with your subscription (Free: 100, Indie: 5,000, Studio: 20,000, Pro: 75,000) and resets at the end of each billing period. The pack bucket comes from one-off top-ups you buy from /dashboard/credits, 1,000 for $2.99, 5,000 for $11.99, 20,000 for $39.99, and never expires.
When you run an AI tool, GameFoundry drains your monthly bucket first, then falls back to your pack bucket. A single spend can be split across both if monthly runs out mid-run. Provider failures refund credits automatically, back to the bucket they came from.
You can watch your live balance and the breakdown at /dashboard/credits, and every spend appears in Recent activity on your dashboard with a link to the content the spend produced.
Tip
The credit cost of an AI tool is always shown on its page before you run it. If you know you'll be doing a burst of generations, buying a pack up-front is cheaper per credit than upgrading to a bigger monthly plan.
